MB I would like your opinion on a GEOC a stock I purchased on Friday. They have earnings coming up on 4/16. A major broker put a strong buy on the stock on 4/1. The stock runs up a couple of points on a volume of approx. 100,000 shares. On 4/3 somebody unloads two blocks of 150,000 shares on a daily volume of 500,000 shares. Would the broker put a strong buy on a stock 2 weeks previous to earnings just to unload some shares previous to bad news. If they were the seller who would want to be the buyer. How do you find out who sold the shares and who bought them. Your opinion would be greatly appreciated because I will unload my share 4/6 at a loss rather wait for a negative earnings at a greater loss. In the companies 10 k released on 3/31 in the risk section they comment that some quarters may not meet expectations for various reasons. Is this common just to release this information so as to not have legal ramifications in the future. Or is this a warning sign because they have not prewarned about the upcoming earnings. THANKS

Michael, am new to this thread. If you would pardon my abrupt intrusion, I am holding july 22-1/2 calls for apdt. I bought them prior to their announcement of their offer to purchase Symbios. They have gone down since. But they are already way low 50% off their high. What do you think of this co. a few months out from now?
Also own a co. called CFMT. A thinly traded co. that has a superior method in cleaning chips and flat panel displays. The are also down about 50%. Is this co. worth averaging down?

Thank you in advance.

Verona

To All, Momentum is now the ONLY way to invest according to CNBC. Joe Kernan this morning made the comment that you can't fight the tape and if you do, then you should go into another line of business. I guess he was buying MU at $95 and Presstek at $200. The tape was strong then, too. -vbg- Now I know why the guy is no longer in the business. His former customers are probably all on Welfare. -g- MB
