BLDPF gave me a quick double again today but I didn't sell -- trending back up, you might want to look into it as a put oppty. This one's really overpriced. Split news only seemed to work for a one-day goose last week.

Look at this:

Michael, speaking of momentum have you noticed Pfeiffer Vacuum (PV)? This is a 100+ year old German Co. that manufactures various types of vacuum pumps and gauges used in many industries including semi fab's. They went public on the NYSE in mid '96 at ~$11. They climbed to roughly 30 in Feb and have since rocketed into the 90's over the last 5 weeks or so. They've recently announced that they will list on the "Neuer Market" in Frankfurt. Their numbers have been pretty good, however I don't see vacuum as either a new or a long term high growth industry. (I know; there is no gravity, the earth sucks and, someone has got to suck all the hot air from this market bubble, etc. may just fuel growth for the vacuum industry near term!) I can't figure why the share price has rose so much and so quickly, what I am missing? Further, is this possibly part of a broader trend associated with established Co's and European markets we should be looking at closely? and what is the Neuer Market?
TIA,
Marty

NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR CORP. (Friday's close 20-1/4) is expected
to announce a new chip that could drive personal-computer prices
to less than $400 next year, the Wall Street Journal reported. The
move would undercut rival INTEL CORP (Friday's close 76-3/4) in a
market already roiled by sub-$1,000 machines, the paper said. The
company is developing a chip that combines a microprocessor with
circuitry of more than a dozen additional chips needed to make a
PC, a leap in integration that could substantially reduce
manufacturing costs, the paper said. National isn't disclosing
potential customers yet, but predicts that what it calls a "PC on
a chip" will be ready for a mass-market audience by June 1999, the
Journal said.
