John,

we both know CUBE is a chip company, but why don't they start manufacturing DVD players themselves? or get Divi to do so?

I think it would be a good move... they would have the lowest cost players, the best margins, and massive revenue growth.

From Zronz--John, your neutral outlook for Q2 seems unduly cautious from my most recent information. Let's revisit this later this week as I see no reason to furnish information to shorts this close to earnings and with other events this week and next.
By the way, a great ongoing short candidate seems to be the Japanese market--it opened Monday morning rather positively and then made an abrupt about face continuing its slide.

Lucent in China............
newsalert.com

<<Lucent Technologies today announced that it has successfully installed the world's first optical MPEG-2 (Motion Picture
Expert Group) digital television system in China's Zhejiang province. Twelve cities in the province will be connected through a
central network using Lucent's Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) fiber technology and its MPEG-2 Digital Video System.
The use of Lucent's SDH and MPEG-2 system allows for a single network to carry video, voice, and data and provides
remote locations with video through the centralized network. Lucent also announced it has signed agreements to provide
China's Hainan province with the same MPEG-2/SDH infrastructure. >>
