SteveH: re: <I would hate to face the market without Bob around.>

After all the years of listening to Brinker (since Oct 1981), I have no doubt I could continue on quite adequately in a Bull Market environment in a Bobless Era. I seriously doubt if I'd have 1% of the skill Brinker has to discern that market inflection point upon a turn into a real bear market. For this reason, I'd share your apprehension (assuming you're serious).

Your point is very well thought out. We can only hope Brinker
never reads these boards to see how many people like caller
Jerry are making it a fulltime job to try to catch him making
a forecasting mistake. He would be very wise indeed to just
pack up his bags and walk out of ABC forever and never again
have to face the likes of Jerry or anybody else like him.
He does not need this and he certainly does not deserve this.
And then, at that point, everybody who follows his advice can
go back to guessing which way the market is headed and when.
Meanwhile, Brinker can sit in front of his computer and
enjoy the investing process he has taught us for so many years.
I very much doubt we are going to have Brinker to kick around
for much longer. Look for him to be gone sooner rather than later.
