I called about them pesky checks and asked a support guy why they have not shown up yet, and would you believe the answer?

He said they were having trouble deciding on what kind of PAPER to use. That's right, what kind of PAPER. One wonders how they decide anything :)

Next thing they'll be saying it's our ISP causing the check delay.

Dear Datek Online Customers:

Thank you for your patience and comments regarding our check writing service and the delays we have experienced thus far.

We had a limited release of check writing services in mid-March and it did not perform up to our standards. As a result, we have not started the mailing for those customers who had signed up for the service. Our second limited release will occur during the week of April 20 and if all goes well, we will instruct the printer to start our initial mailing on May 4, 1998.

As you know, at Datek we strive for the best execution, innovative technology, and superior customer service. It is as a result of this goal that we have delayed the check writing service until we can deliver a quality product. Anything less would not be fair to you, our valued customers.

Thank you again for your patience and I will update you further once our second release has been completed and reviewed.
