AMD shipped > 1/2 MM K6s in the last 2 weeks alone due to excellent yield. AMD will likely return to profitability in 2Q98 given thet the Communications group, Memory group, and Vantis were profitable last year. Vantis will ship a new product, FPGA in 2H98. With the CPG comes on strong, AMD is hitting its stride firing on all 4 cylinders.

97 Rev. breakdown:
1) Memory Group: $724 MM
2) Communications Group: $707 MM
3) CPG: $682 MM
4) Vantis: $243 MM

All:

With NSm going after the low-end and AMD going after everything else (apparently with IBM money now), we all know Intel will get hurt.

However it seems that everyone is overlooking one company here.. IDTI, with the two press releases today, IDTI is basically SOL. They won't be able to compete in the integrated single chip extremely low cost market and won't possible be able to go up against an IBM/AMD and Intel..

IDTI investments are starting to look like tax write-offs to me.

Steve

Cyrix/NSM Rule!

PS. Congrats to the AMD longs on the good news.
