This isn't a technical comment, but it should put to rest doubts about the upgrade path for DLT, and any thoughts that competing products will make it obsolete later in the year. However, it would appear to make it plausible that, as the upcoming cartridges have a capacity of 500 gig, after market sales of media won't be terribly robust. Even if a company is backing up, say, 5 terabytes of space, that is only 10 cartridges. It is great news, IMO.
