The only reason I can see for the price being so low (39+) is that people don't think the merger will go through at that price. I don't know much about Conseco, but from what I've seen they are expected to have earnings of $3.40 in 1998? That, in addition to GNT's $2.47 still seems to provide a great earnings base for share-price growth. Can someone calculate/post numbers for combined 1998 Quarter by Quarter estimates for earnings, and 1999? We've got to figure out whether we hold CNC, buy more, sell, etc.
