>>Btw, what's the best way to store apples<<

In a barrel full of dirt. But that's for storing orchard
apples for the winter. It might be more than you need to
mess with.

Duncan, are you saying that you can't keep enough ham on hand to satisfy your personal lust for pork, or that the neighbors would be breaking down the door if the word got out, and you can't afford to feed them all?

You really should ask Janice for some more surimi recipes. Surimi is just the amusing kind of pseudo-food that is fun to cook with. Does anyone else have some? I love talking about recipes at SI!!

When I store apples I keep them in the refrigerator, in the fruit and vegetable keeper. You don't want them too cold. If you put them out in a fruit bowl they get soft and mushy almost immediately.

Goretex underwear for your sister-in-law? Is this the lovely young thing who was assaulted by excited Italian guys waving their members at her when she was studying art there? No wonder you got Goretex underwear for her!! But won't her husband wonder why you are buying intimate underthings for her birthday? Perhaps a beef chub instead?
