Paul, is Deschutes compreable to starfire? how many users can it support??? When will M.Dell get his hands on it???

do you think AMD in their life time come up w. something like Merced?

i cut out few lines from the following lines...
biz.yahoo.com

A single 40 CPU Starfire system supported 3,232 Baan Reference Users (BRUs) and was certified by Baan at Sun's Enterprise Technology Center in Palo Alto,
Calif. Additionally, a 36 CPU Starfire server configured for a client/server environment posted another record by supporting 4,590 BRUs -- the most BRUs
supported by any hardware platform.

This benchmark, tested in both a host mode and client-server configuration, supports up to three times more users than Sun's closest competitor. <<<<<<<<<<,do you think this claim is true???>>

Paul, Re: "What O/S will run on this multiple-node system?"

Windows NT 4.0, Standard and Enterprise Editions.

Windows 5.0 to follow.

An operating system from a company North of here (maybe).
