RE: "With indices, we don't carry very many at this time..."

Brad, another that one you do have (surprize) is the OSX (Oil Service Index).

You added it to the "Strictly: Drilling and oil-field services" thread for me a couple of weeks ago (and i thanked you).

It says "unknown" but we know what it is. (Please don't try to fix it.)

Brad,

Thanks for the indices list. As I mentioned in my previous post, you also have the Nasdaq biotech index IXBT. If you are soliciting suggestions for what to add, the Amex biotech index BTK would be nice. (Not because it's a good index, it's actually a terrible one, but because it's the only biotech index with quoted options available).

And while I'm making biotech requests, adding the word "biotech" to the spell-checker would be nice <G>.

Thanks,

Peter

Brad:

Would it be possible to add additional search filters to the search facility.
Search by thread, by person and date range come to mind.

For example, if on one of the longer threads, I remembered that "Joe Blow" had made mention of "silver recoveries" on the "Rogain Hair Loss" Thread sometime in "1997" I could search for this.

What do you think?

Brad, SI is very slow for me these days. Often - after a wait -
I get a "no response" message. Other times the "next" button
just seems to be stuck. No problem with other sites and I use
Communicator 4.04 - which erases cache automatically.

Just now I interrupted "submit response" after waiting at least
a minute. Sometimes, after interrupting, I try again and it goes
right through.

Brad, I reported SI was slow earlier. Meanwhile, I installed a
ping program (thanks! Ben Antanaitis) and found there is packet
loss. I reported this to my ISP. So the problem is not SI.
The ping report is below.

Brad,

Umm, sorry about the off color humor in #4mil. I didn't realize that you were going to post a link on the main page, but I should have. I'll be more considerate on #5mil. :-))

David

Brad: If this is a contest, and the winner gets to be webmaster for the day, I want in!!
SI will never be the same. Ha Ha Ha Ha.
Pleeeeeeze Brad..
My first change would be to have everything printed in reverse.
SI has been very unthoughtful to people who see everything backwards.
LOL

Brad, I'd like to be able to do a search using a persons name.
For ex-If I want to post to Brad Dryer, but can't find a recent post from him to respond to and don't already have him peoplemarked I could enter the name in the search feature and find it.

Maybe there is a way to do this already, but if so, I haven't found it.

Thanks and keep up the absolutely fantastic work.
Jeffery E Forrest

PS-Don't know if you are aware of it, but I mentioned SI in the Feb. 98 edition of Smart Money in an interview they did about online trading.
They edited what I said badly and made ME look like an idiot<G>, BUT I thought the mention of SI came across in complimentary fashion
