Thanks Hawkeye!

The KPMG study is the most comprehensive that I've encountered to-date, bar none. It covers the market (potential & players). Wouldn't it be interesting to see a 1998 update.

The economic input/output analysis is interesting.

I'm still seeking , as you know, an equivalent, technical i/o analysis comparing the efficiency of FC systems with traditional ICE systems in vehicle propulsion.

We need to see comparisons of pure H, and conversion of various fuels (via reformers), vs. traditional combustion, in converting fuels to usable energy. The relative generation of pollutants also needs to be considered in the comparisons. The most interesting would be a head-on comparison of gasoline reformer FC versus traditional gasoline ICE power.

The usability of the resulting energy also needs direct comparison: acceleration, sustained speed driving, range per refuel, power plant durability, maintenance costs, etc.

Perhaps someone else on the thread has run across this info, or parts of it, (it may remain proprietary, with the FC & vehicle & fuel manufacturers).

These studies must have been done for the biggies to invest at these levels.

Anyone?

Dave

By the way, Thank again.

I ordered the 55 pp "Zeroing Out Pollution: The Promise of Fuel Cell Vehicles" booklet from the UCS:

ucsusa.org

It was only $6 US + shipping. Sounds interesting.
