Regarding the "confidential" Intel roadmap, looks like the PII will top out out at 450 mhz and stay there for a while until Katmai rolls around. This will give AMD at least six months where it is, at a minimum, only one speed grade behind Intel's fastest processor. That is a big windowe to achieve substantial profits. If AMD manages to rollout K6+3D at clock speeds faster than 400 mhz, AMD may even become the performance leader before K7 is introduced.
