Yes...very interesting indeed. Also , do not forget Quinta (SEG) in a similar vein. It seems more and more likely to me that hard disk drives will need a role in appliances. The traditional PC market is fraught with difficulties and change IMO.

Sony's views on digital tv recording/storage

Excerpt-- "Future recording disks must be capable of recording about three hours of high-quality motion pictures. The products will need a minimum capacity of some 20GB. The capacity of 3GB-4GB will not emerge as the de facto standard, and I think that the MPEG2 won't be a standard for the motion picture format."
