Reseller Program

BusinessWire, Wednesday, April 08, 1998 at 17:07

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 1998--

Independent Research Confirms Preference
for 3COM Small Business Partner Program

3Com Corporation (NASDAQ:COMS) today announced six new elements
to its one-year-old 3Com Small Business Partner Program. The new
elements include semi-monthly e-mail bulletins, lead generation
assistance, free pre-sales assistance, marketing materials and access
to demonstration units.
These new elements will be added to 3Com's existing Small
Business Partner Program which has recruited approximately one-third
of all the small business value-added resellers (VARs) in the U.S.
According to a recent CMP Channel Information Services study titled,
"Sizing the Universe," there are approximately 30,000 resellers and
consultants focused on selling LANs and WANs to small businesses.
Since forming the 3Com Small Business Partner Program one year ago,
the program has successfully recruited and helped nearly 10,000 small
business VARs and consultants.

<<Microsoft agreed to refer to the devices as "Palm-size PCs" and to discontinue using the term "Palm PC.">>

McDonald's agreed to refer to their new hamburgers as "Whopper-size Burgers" and Burger King was ecstatic!!!

How can these Palm Computing-3Com lawyers be so stupid? Couldn't they think of a single English word that can help Microsoft out? How about 'Hand'? If Microsoft doesn't like Hand PC let them use Paw PC as I suggested earlier. How about '3-by-4 PC' if they truly want to accentuate the size of the device?

These Microsoft guys are wicked and I am glad that more than 40% of my portfolio is MSFT.
