What's that whistling sound? IS it.....is it.....OMYGOD IT'S A BOMBSHELL:

"Starr and his legal staff have - for the first time in the four-year investigation of the president - assembled evidence that they believe requires a report to the House of Representatives. The independent counsel statute mandates that such a report be made whenever prosecutors find 'any substantial and credible information ... that may constitute grounds for an impeachment.'"

"People rushed to the Web" to read the news, a press secretary to a ranking GOP congressman e-mailed from Capitol Hill.

"The immediate reaction in the office was 'Oh my God, we're really heading for impeachment hearings?' It was a scary moment."

My original point, however, to you was that Lewinsky and Tripp were in engaging in conversation for a year before Tripp actually began the taping.

Now come ON, Betty! First of all, you said that according to the UTTERLY veracious Lucianne G they'd been in communication about Monica's affair for TWO years. AND you said that Monica and Linda had been friends in the White House, which--let's face it--would have given the story of the affair a hell of a lot more credibility. Only it ain't true. Instead, Monica arrives at the Pentagon, sucks up to Tripp (always on the lookout for gossip about presidential women, as the "outline" of her proposed "book", submitted to Goldberg, testifies), and tells her god knows what. Or when. Or why.

You say they were "engaging in conversation for a year before Tripp actually began the taping"? How the hell do YOU know? We're supposed to take Lucianne's word for this?

Gimme a break.
