Jim

thanks, I was a bit confused if the point was made about sytem L2 or on-the-chip L2.

I wonder if Inel would wont many Celerys to be sold. I don't doubt that Andy knows that it is not only the risk for Intel's reputation but also a potential reason for future law-suites.

Celery would be coming at the time when not only it would have L2 disadvantage but it would also come in time when amd\nsm\intel would be moving to 3d from mmx. It is too bad that NSM integrated chip would not make in time. I suspect that by 99, when integrated chip would be out, Celery would be spoiled by then.

Regards
-Albert

Jim,

Intel plans to have a new version of Celery later in the year with an onboard L2. That processor should have excellent performance. The current Celery is strictly a poorly planned and ill-fated stopgap product.
