Well, lest I become a lion in a den of Daniels, I will take the fifth about whether I agree with Cohen's sentiments. I nonetheless think that the lines capture something of the spiritual and intellectual malaise of our times, in this age when Christianity has become a minority interest and anti-communism has become redundant.

JDP,

If I can make a small modification to your comment, I feel that Christ's message is still in our lives. If we all go back to what he said, there is much for us to incorporate in our lives. However the 'Christian' message is very confused. One only need to look at the futile discussions that take place else where to see why the current state of the message leaves many people questioning it.
