Stockmelt, I prefer my numbers. Also when I asked for opinions there is an implied assumption the opinion put forth would be accompanied by or attached to a source of origin of somewhat resonable intelligence associated from the respondant. Something appears to be lacking in your response. At this point, I'll leave it up to you to figure out what part of your aswer is unfulfilled. Alberts' school is getting ready to open once again is your checkbook capable of the tuition requirements. You know you'll have to prove financial capacity from an independents source to complete the cirriculum. In short Albert does not accept Intel or American express. Nor AMD in short form for that matter. I'm affraid that limbo bar At Albert's Party might be a little too low for you not to have your ass draging in the sand. At least that's the skinney on the private thread. So SEZ Albert.

StockMan,

Re: "Therefore AMD will have .39 loss for 1998. At an estimated P/E of 20,
AMD should be -$7.8. Thus AMD should pay each of the shareholders $7.8 for
standing by AMD."

I noticed a couple of interesting things in AMD's "loss" announcement:

biz.yahoo.com

First, cash and cash equivalents declined from $467,032,000 to $306,804,000
in just one quarter. Also compared to last years 1st quarter, AMD had
close to the same revenue ($551,999,000 versus $540,856,000) while Cost
Of Sales (COS) has risen dramatically ($349,076,000 to 423,591,000).

No wonder AMD is losing money, they can't control their manufacturing
costs ... these probably include many wafers that had to be filed in
"circular" inventory. <ggg>

Make It So,
Yousef
