If you believe in cycles..these have been the years of paper ..this paper that paper..I am confident that in a few years..there will be
no confidence in paper..
think the Republicans are waiting closer to election times to pounce.
(if the market tanks before that..watch public opinion..look how
public opinion turned on Bush for instance).
Think Tom is right about Clinton becoming a closet hero..it just
shows how sleazy most humans are..(not you Tom-I have talked to you enough..just your observation)
shows how self serving practically every one is..especially women's
groups(because of his being a benefactor for so many women's issues in principle(;>)) who are doing what those other women were doing..
trying to seek some personal gain and in the end getting something else..(who really cares about possible perjury or obstruction of
justice anyways..it is so rampant anyways..:>)
Reagan was never a hero of mine..supposedly he used to fall asleep
in meetings..if I remember correctly, he used to make his advisers
give him indexcard reports..he made his judgments based on his own
experiences in his life rather than reviewing global history..
His power,in my mind, came from his belief system..he never blinked..
just remember some of his press conferences..he had no doubt..people
lunge towards certainty..even the people he hurt through legislation
blindly looked up to him...he was the greatest speaker..the ultimate
father figure who told everybody everything will be all right..he
was so very very karismatic..(who cares what his children said..)
maybe Goldsnow can help, but I thought the bringing down of the Iron
Curtain was the result of bankruptcy and the time was ripe..the man
in Russia had a lot to do with the change..
thought the oil shock brought about the disaster and not presidential
leadership..is it the times or the man
Rubin and Greenspan are helping to bring about a two tiered society..
i.e. Carter...too much of a control freak..didn't know how to delegate..but at least now, he is a model that parents who fear
"the great unknown" can present to their children...
Practically everybody is blind, deaf, and dumb and only some trauma in
an individual's life will bring about change..no words..
If I am preachy, I am not apologizing..just have to state my views
to show what I go along with..and what I don't go along with..
think Goldsnow nailed it.."survival"..but what prices people pay..

Mornin' Alex -

Yes, they gave me 2 days to do it, I finished Sunday night. It's been posted in the new issue of the newsletter. Sorry if anyone was expecting a serious piece of research, but I am not an analyst. The article is a hastily constructed piece of schlock, but perhaps not entirely inappropriate.
