Tim: seeing how OAL has a reputation for being slow, I doubt many people with fast modems would choose them. (Like many, when I first got my modem, I used the free OAL for a month, and was very glad to get a quicker ISP after that). I suspect the percentage of 56k modem owners using other ISP's is higher. And even with other ISP's, I tend to doubt having a 56k modem actually gives much benefit, in that the ISP systems tend to operate slower than that. Maybe OAL is right about the time of wholesale shift to another system, but it is not because there is no demand for speed now. I think it is more because no one wants to put a ton of cash into one type of system (say like BETA) only to have it lose out to another system (say like VHS).

Still considering HLIT, got some ORTL a while back.
