I think the interesting thing is AOL is locked out of cable because most cable providers will be ISP's. What need does AOL provide then? Content? Yes, but will people want it when they don't have to view through a special AOL browser opening to AOL menu choices?

Do we see all Cable comanies establishing a ISP mentality, or will they farm this out to other companies? Would be more interesting to see a Verio take on cable company service. Has anyone seen a new cable service that is not run by the MSO?

With AOL, it seems they have no choice but to support ADSL as it's a generic dial up sort of thing, where cable is a proprietary network.

It seems as if cable's success will be AOL's loss?

Regards,

Mark
