Avenger, Mindmeld, there is no doubt in my mind this is a good company and long term will do well. Acquisition is a real good play, and if you are real LONG, will probably happen. I bailed because I realized that the numbers were not good enough to overcome an over-bought technical condition.

Good luck to all.

there is a lot of competition among the search engine companies too, and look at YHOO... there is or will be soon a lot of competition for the online book retailers, and look at AMZN... (losing money still)... and the rest too (Excite, Lycos, etc, etc)... pure speculation. so, all this is very *unjust*, I would say, for ETrade. ETrade makes more money than all of them. and the "barriers to entry" for search engine companies and online book retailers "wanna-bes" are very thin, compared to what it takes to be an online broker and have your customers satisfied.

Why do you think Etrade gets bought out. Why not Etrade buys the others?
