And I still say that the selection of Starr as IC was engineered by the White House as being in their best interests. Once again, the Republicans in the House - the strength of their political network - were outmaneuvered by Clinton's people,

I need to know how the White House was involved to get Starr selected as the IC. First Robert Fiske was appointed by Reno who was replaced after Clinton reauthorized the IC statute. The three judge panel, headed by the dreaded Judge Sentelle (of the vast right wing conspiracy) then named Starr to take over. I don't see how the White House could get involved in this.
