Resignations of redundant officers is common in a merger.

Why is the resignation of top people in CUC a shock? One may speculate that their roles will be filled by HFS types.

Don't worry! There might be some short term weakness, (a couple of weeks) but after the street shakes this thing out and realizes that the people that left are replaceable the stock will bounce back big time. This is a long term hold and hindsight will prove this to be a wonderful buying opportunity.
