Bill,

we, the American people, elected a Republican Congress and
instantly turned to back Slick on the budget deal.

With regard to a third party becoming as corrupt, I'm angry enough to risk it. The Republicans are not stupid. They sense the well being among the populace and don't want to rock the boat, so they will play along with Clinton as he promises more and more goodies at government expense. Profiles in courage this isn't. They also won't take the political risk of any serious action against Clinton while the people are happy with themselves and their investments and are giving Clinton the credit for the good times. That could all change, and if the Repubs get some guts and cut back on government and taxes, I'll give 'em another chance, but for now, a pox on both their houses.
