Tek,

What a nice message to wake up to in the morning. Thanks!

Well, I must say to answer your question I think YURI is a short term play..that's why I'm in for the short term. I'm an investor and I want to make money, not get married to a stock or a technology. I leave that to folks like you...<g>

As for the network edge, YURI can not hope to compete in a layer 3 world where there are 100's of man years of development already comleted in products being sold by COMS, BAY and CSCO.

Hmmmmm... That's what IBM, Compaq, and HP said about a company called Dell

Bllllllaahhhhhahhahahaha.. That's the funniest statement I've read so far on SI. First you're somehow trying to draw an analogy between YURI and Dell...preposterous...and then an analogy between building software and building a distribution strategy. DELL has no engineering in their products you nut. They simply slap together inexpensive components and PCB's and ship 'em direct to cut out the cost of the middleman... Like Duh....

I won't even stoop to the level of your last statement...

Gary..

Oh and by the way, it's interesting to see how much ATM CPE is being sold relative to Multiservice layer 3 equipment. Got that data yet? Who else is selling gobs of ATM CPE? What are their revenues? Then look at the routers and layer 3 switches.... I'm sorry, but I can't do your homework for you.

Tek, Your last comment on this post to Gary was hilarious. And I will point out that he has yet to answer my question as to whether or not he is a Cisco sales rep.

There is at least one other flaw in Gary's argument as to why Yurie will be at the end of the road after Q4. He discounts any potential new products or acquisitions of product to leap-frog into the layer 3 switch arena. (If I have the terminology correct here.)

We have all suspected a takeover of Yurie at some point, but, frankly I don't think that would make any difference to how this stock would end up appreciating in the long run. (Short run is a far different matter.) I have heard no argument from Gary, which is objective and based on facts, that would preclude me from thinking that Yurie could become another Cisco, Ascend or Bay. Let's hope not a Cabletron.

I guess I believe in full disclosure when it comes to these threads. I am tired of the lies and innuendo that gets passed along as truth to unsuspecting readers in these valuable forums. The value I see in these threads is to help people make money. I realize Gary would argue that he is throwing in his comments for the good of all, however, I always feel that he has an ulterior motive behind his statements.

I currently own 1600 shares of Yurie, but my balls are probably no where near as large as Gary's, much less my position in the stock (excuse me to any ladies on the thread, but just dismiss my comments as a guy thing)

I probably should have upped it to 2000 when we hit 20 a couple of weeks ago, but, hindsight in this game is always 20/20. I have been estimating $0.13 for earnings this quarter, which should scare more than one short away. If we miss earnings by any amount, then the shorts may get theirs.

Why does April 15th have to be such an ominous day?

Best luck to all, Keith
