>>Their awareness seems to be quite limited to their own spheres of expertise<<

And you have to admit, there aren't many lawyers specializing in Intern Boinking, Groping and Exposing Law. Though I'm sure we have quite a crop of lawyers boinking interns.

I used to work at a medium sized law firm in I won't say where and I remember being on the elevator with one of my colleagues one day in May (right around the time when the summer interns came aboard) and he asked me who was in charge of f***ing the summer associates this year.

And this was after the Clarence Thomas hearings.

Jeff,

I used the word "finer" in its definition of clarity, meaning if you take away all the extraneous stuff and hyperbole that seem to be preoccupying the media, ergo the public, those two finer points remain and should be of paramount concern to those who would uphold and preserve the law according the US Constitution and who would insist that the media confine itself to its original purpose which is keeping us, the public, informed in a timely manner of those matters which are germane to our immediate and future well being.

I agree with your take on lawyers, or at least many of the lawyers who have been posting on this forum, with one or two notable exceptions. I find it troubling that people who have studied the law and have chosen it as their profession would choose to overlook and even condone unlawful and unconstitutional practices.
