Gary, I have been following the discussion regarding growth for ASND and CSCO, and would like to add to the discussion. It appears to me from the discussion that everyone would agree the industry is growing. Some would suggest rapidly. While I would agree that this industry is going to continue to grow lets look at some of the facts regarding the 4 networkers. Coms - Coms announced earnings late in march and we discover that that there revenues are down from 1,462,891 feb 28, 1997 to 1,250,191, mar 1, 1998. Down some 14.5% Continuing with coms, their 52 week range is 59 11/16 - 24, interesting range. They closed on thursday at 32 3/8.Bay - Bay announces earnings on april 16, this thursday. They warned on 3/17 that revenues will be down 10% for the current quarter. CSCO - Csco Warned as I recall that growth will not be as high as expected. I could not find the release but remember reading it on the csco thread. You will correct me I am sure if I am wrong.ASND - Asnd meets estimate + .01 dilutive for the quarter and has 4%+ growth. Everyone seems to be bad mouthing the only company that makes estimate and meets their plan. Also, I could not break down the revenues of the other companies and compare directly the revenues from Asnd's main product niches, but I would like to add that asnd is working their plan and are meeting their projections, while CSCO, BAY and Coms are having problems keeping up with the growth. As we have discussed before, the only way for CSCO to grow 20%+ this year and in the future is ACQUISITION, ACQUISITION, ACQUISITION. They are buying their growth. CSCO has 10 Acquisitions for each of ASNDs. While 4%+ growth may not seem to great, it is my opinion that the industry did not grow last quarter as much as everyone believes, but ASND did grow her revenues while most others, except csco did not. I will take the 4% and looking forward I think it is safe to say that ASND will continue to put products on the market that there customers want and need. If CSCO's CEO was really smart he would buy asnd, as he should have cascade when he had the chance. Seems to me that CSCO growth is already slipping. Should be interesting come monday. Ted
