Boy, I'm a "joiner", Alex. Can you tell? I actually like guns, as engineering and art; it's the noise and flying bullets. And a hint of the things they've been used for, and can be used for, and are used for, that scares me away from them. I admit it's not mature, too, but it's there; it's guttural. On, full-auto. Too many photos, too many history texts. I just associate them; even if it's not right. Even on cops, I "see" them as killers. Seeds of death. They scare me. Like the physics term, I think, "potential". (?) It is true, they don't have to be used for that; but they "can".

(I know you didn't ask that part.)

It's sitting there, waiting. To kill someone.
That level of power and mystery, drops me into confusion. A primal, chaotic one. Everything goes black and white, with no readable text. Fear; and no understanding. Not fear for myself, fear that in a few moments, things could be way different. And yes, they can be used to save lives. And I suppose a certain group of people should wear hats or tatoos or badges that say, "Don't kill someone on my behalf." (Just kill em if you want to.)

I don't care if people have guns, it's probably not my business until they get loose, but I guess I'd rather not see them. I wouldn't mind having a few historical and technical beauties, tho.

If the NRA sat around in the dirt shooting things up, well, I'd think about it. But they yak yak yak too. Could drive a person over the edge.

Knives scare me too, sometimes.

Chicken!

And them too, as I've mentioned before.

Besides, the NRA said I was "too much of a hot head". Can you believe that? eom
