"Occasionally, a lightweight packsack drill is used as a prospecting tool to
provide the geologist with near-surface structural information. The packsack
drill is a one-person drill possessing depth capabilities of 15 metres and is
easily transported by two men. In the Snap Lake area, this drill was used to
pinpoint the location of a flat-lying sheet-like kimberlite dyke. "

This from Winspear's Web page...Can anyone tell me how anyone can conclude a depth to the kimberlite dyke of 500 metres from the above description "flat-lying sheet -like kimberlite dyke"? Also the 500 meters is refered to as "down dip" in other company reports. What does "down dip" mean? Thanks in advance.
