Can Bernie Ebbers, the "aw, shucks" country boy pull it all together? I'll suggest a parallel situation, Ronald Reagan. Here was a man in the world's most powerful position, not even a lawyer, but one with a vision and goal. Reagan communicated and motivated. He surrounded himself with the best people he could get, spelled out the mission and then got the hell out of their way. It doesn't take a technocrat to run a Worldcom; maybe just a shrewd country-boy who knows where he wants to take the company and doesn't allow his ego to trip him up. Long on WCOM. Robert S. Sheldon
