Time to get real long again on TAVA. I think we're going into full story-stock mode, fundamentals be damned for a while. (I sold half of my TAVA at 14 recently, but I will double or triple my position on Monday, which will make it a huge % of my portfolio).

Here's what we have going:

1. Wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am Fortune article. Yes, too bad some subscribers already have it, but I doubt it will be fully discounted Monday. The article is huge.

2. NMS status: Could happen any day.

3. We're due for a press release, even with Scott's ridiculous 45 day schedule. (That boy needs a good talking to. Skip?).

What could PR contain? Possibilities:

a. BMY full 124 plant rollout for I&A (has been confirmed by Scott via e-mail, but not by press release).

b. New clients. We know we have a bunch of 'em (2 or 3 per week since Mar 5 when we had only 60, darn). GM has been acknowledged at the shareholders' meeting. Big rumors floating around. (Boeing anyone?)

c. Full I&A rollout by Coca-Cola?

d. Something new and unexpected and wonderful (like the R.W. Beck LLC utilities alliance).

Possible problems:

a. Chart is not screaming "buy"! (what do I know about TA? Not much.)

b. Wind against us as we continue through general market earnings preannouncement twilight zone malaise.

c. Asia upchucks for nth time.

d. Investors flee Dow as it dawns that increasing P with decreasing E is not a great idea. Nahhhh .....

e. Recent weakness in y2k stocks

f. Something new and unexpected and awful.

Zebra, you once posted about when to buy in face of good news. When will you be buying on Monday? (God, I'll probably have to wake up at 6 am again as I live on the left coast.)

For that matter, can someone drag Tim Flick over here for his take on this new situation?

Wade

Zebra,

<<the internet is becoming a medium where ideas are more powerful than personalities>>

This is a most delicious & nourishing food for thought I've been served for free in months. Thank you!

Coupla weeks ago read an article in WSJ about some internet retail co (smth like Arcnet - not sure) that was discussed on internet "sooooo ex/in-tensively" - about 6000 posts since mid 1996. Now, what's this post's number? Since July 97...

Cheers!

V.

P.S. All of a sudden I realized that venerable Dolar Bill started this awesome thread precisely on my birthday! Mere coincidence? NO!!!
