Iceberg, that doesn't surprise me. Lycos has "retail appeal" and is likely to run with retail purchases ... individual speculators are likely to snap it up and run it to highly unsustainable prices in the near term. Making it pretty risky for short sellers.

CMGI may be more held by institutions and larger investors who bought in the low teens over a year ago and see a five-bagger long-term gain if they lighten their position now. CMGI would also be smart to make a secondary offering of say, a million shares, and take in $60 or $70 million, which would put about $5 or $6 per share in the treasury for cashflow needs of their various subsidiaries and new investments.

As a result, CMGI may or may not be due for a correction, just as it corrected in 1996 after its last fast run-up. On the other hand, LCOS may be due to be sold to Bertlesman or some other international media company seeking an "instant presence" in the Net to compete with Yahoo! and MSN's equivalent that is coming
