Doug, since you've followed CMGI a good long while, perhaps you can explain something I find puzzling, namely, the typical spread, which is exceptionally large. What do you make of the fact that the gap between bid and ask is often as much as $1.75? Conversely, I've only rarely seen the spread as low as a quarter point, which in most stocks trading at CMGI's volume would be rather a lot. What on earth is going on with that? I hate to bring market makers into the discussion, since they're an easy target, but can you offer another explanation? If it isn't market maker shenanigans, then what the heck is it? It certainly has raised my eyebrows. Is there any regulatory monitoring of suspicious doings of this kind? Is it suspicious to you or anyone else?

>>Making it pretty risky for short sellers.

The other thing making it risky for CMGI short-sellers is
that if they spin off a subsidiary to shareholders in
the form of shares/rights/warrants, the shorts need to
buy those on the open market and supply them to the
lending broker.
