Hey Craig,

<< Sure, Fibre Channel is for storage NOW, but it wasn't that way a year or so ago. We were all saying how Fibre Channel had a legitimate shot at going all the way to the desktop, instead of ATM, or Gigabit Ethernet. That isn't going to happen, except in high-performance workgroup applications. >>

I agree. I still think FC will get to the desktop more in the future (only high end SGI's now?), but I don't think that time is coming anytime real soon. I just thought that quote by that Tom guy had little to do with backbones SAN to LAN connections. GE will be the backbone of choice soon and people won't have GE on the desktop in masse anytime soon. So what. You don't need FC on the desktop to make a huge powerful SAN.

Some people here seem surprised there was no press release today about Ancor's new connectivity device. While I am a little surprised that Ancor didn't move up a little bit, I wouldn't expect a press release from Ancor about the product bc there was mention of it in a magazine. I imagine we will hear a little more on the device at interOp.

As for this quarter or next quarter, i believe the management has almost blatantly said that the first half will be so-so at best and
then 'hopefully' begin to ramp up in the second half.

all imho
