Actually Robert, I disagree somewhat with your point of view. I think that cardiac screening is very much needed in the USA and other western countries, because they are the ones with higher incidence of heart disease in general. The considerations of insurance company profit aside, IMAT's technology would be a boon for preventative medicine in your country, if I understand the principles correctly (I've done a bit of reading lately). To elaborate, the risk factors for developing heart disease (in no particular order of importance) are :- 1. The things you can't change, such as * Family History (can't choose your ancestors and chromosomes) * Sex (males fare worse than females) * Age (natural degradation that occurs in all of us) and 2. The lifestyle risk factors that Many Westerners ignore * Smoking * Overweight * High fat diet * Low exercise * High blood pressure * High blood cholesterol * Diabetes * High Stress Because of these factors which are commonly found in western lifestyles, heart disease is the #1 killer, despite the fact that it can be prevented as best, or at least delayed & minimized at worst. As I said previously, I think that cardiac screening using IMAT's technology could save a lot of lives. JMSHO. Durro P.S. Wonder if they need a PR guy ? :-)

Hi Bob, Just some info on the insurance co. front. Was considering a scan for my wife until we found a cardiac problem didnt exist but did find out that my HMO did cover the scan. Perhaps more will follow. Bill C.
