>>Move to stamp out 'lap dancing'

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Houston police began enforcing a strict "look but don't touch" rule in the city's numerous topless dancing clubs Wednesday.

Undercover cops were visiting clubs to check that dancers kept at least three feet away from customers, a new measure aimed at stamping out so-called "lap dancing."

"Dancers can no longer be right on a guy's lap, they cannot touch the patron at all," Captain Roy Chandler of the Houston Police Department's vice division said.

The lap-dancing ban is part of a general tightening of the rules for topless clubs including a requirement that all dancers must be licensed.

About 1,800 topless dancers are already registered, but police believe 3,000 are working at more than 100 clubs in the city.

Some dancers can earn thousands of dollars in tips over a weekend, but any who are caught touching a customer could now face a jail sentence. <<

"May I see your license, ma'am?" I'll bet the pictures are interesting.

Houston: Our strippers are licensed for your protection and for the amusement of our police officers.

I guess I'll have to satisfy myself with my condom collection.
