I keep hearing the same stuff over and over -- "how can SGI compete with Compaq, Dell, etc" Remember -- these companies are NOT technology companies. They assemble these machine with off-the-shelf parts using technology that is a decade old. These companies are manufacturing and selling commodities.

By bringing SGI's technology into the WINTEL camp, I believe that we will see a new generation of machines with a level of performance a quantum leap ahead of that's currently out there. And people will be more than willing to shell out extra bucks for them. SGI will be opening up an whole new market. I figure that's worth holding onto the stock for a while. A point or two up or down is not what I'm fishing for. I haven't waited out all these weak quarters to give up now. --JD
