Investors (not traders) ought to pay attention to the decline in revenues. The first response which trim some of the share price was the correct one, long term. Wait and see. Analysts are the ones that play these games; they are to be expected.

I think there are several reasons to explain why INTC is moving big now:

1. Earning estimation confusion. did they meet or beat by 9 cents? People tend to think they beat a handful.
2. Very optimistic, people started to shake off 2nd Q Woo and look into 2nd half which most companies won't make bad comments now. If this sentiment grows, the index will move higher in the near future.
3. INTC announced 3000 job cut and capital spending cut, which is what investors like to hear most.

I'll look the behavior of market tomorrow. If INTC leads market higher, I believe the DJ are heading 9500 and NASD are heading 1900.

They would love to see their stock get killed because they have $10b in cash in addition to the $1.8b that they just spent to buy back stocks in the last quarter.
