Barbara, I think you are mistaken about a few things.

First of all, yes, Waterhouse will take care of you, because they know what customer service is all about. I can't recommend them more highly for the occasional investor. It's just that they're too slow for a daytrader. I still keep accounts there. But I don't think they would help you on a regular basis unless you placed an "all or none" order with them, which they offer. That's what that option is for, to prevent those kind of fills, which they have no control over. My guess is they would ( after the first couple of times) eventually tell you to use that option. Please tell me if I am wrong.

As for the new rules, they haven't been instituted yet, so I'm not sure what you speak of. And your statement "Nite and Mash are Waterhouse's" proves the point I was trying to make. They are Waterhouse's because they pay for the order flow, unless I'm forgetting something. That's the definition of playing against you, the customer. It means you AREN'T getting the best price, exactly what the exposure I mentioned is supposed to mitigate.

And, yes I have called and e-mailed til I'm blue in the face (and fingers), and Datek is entirely unbending. Perhaps you can charm them better than I have.

If you do, please clue me in on how.

Len
