Something else that was in the article was that Cyrix wasn't looking at giving up socket 7 for at least 18 months (it was at the end of one of the articles).. so maybe we are starting to get a clearer picture of the roadmap?

Now, the company's new 0.25-micron fab in South Portland, Maine will concentrate on manufacturing the MediaGX, Cyrix's integrated processor.

Actually, I believe that it is a good strategy to make profit. MediaGX reached 233Mhz on .35u process. With better optimization, MediaGXm have the potential to reach 400Mhz and beyond on NSM 0.25u process. As far as I know, MHZ still sell very well up to this moment. I think that MediaGXm 400Mhz would sell very well as we know MediaGX-133 is fast enough for 98% of all PC users.
