Only if you have wax in you ears, this is right in line with what Intel has said to expect for many qtrs now. Only surprises to those that follow Intel is that rev was down 7.8% rather than the Intel forecast of 10%.

Let's not try to put this into perspective. Who are we comparing 54% margins with - even compared to the mafia - 54% still looks pretty good.

Think about it - Intel is reducing R&D by $500M to $5B - that is more than AMD has grossed the past two years.
