Arik, Barry, et al: Did anyone notice the late decline in INTC? Tom Kurlak (sp?) made bearish comments, including suggesting it may hit $60. All the box makers were up today, IMO due to the Street's initial positive reaction to INTC's earnings, and none of them sold off much late in the day when INTC did.

What I can't figure out (kidding of course - I don't really expect analysts to be rational) is how most of the Street could interpret a 20% year-to-year decline in eps, projected further deterioration of revenues and margins, $200 mil hacked off the CAPEX budget and shrinking payrolls as a bullish scenario.

Could INTC drag the techs back down tomorrow (except 'net stocks of course - they'll be the safe haven again I guess)?

Ooh! Cendant is restating '97 due to "accounting irregularities". Halted down 9 after hours. Pop!

Tried to buy more SPX puts just before the close, but the spread was wide and I didn't get filled. To save a quarter, I may lose out on much more.

Hope ya'll don't mind a little fundamental "find the faults" to go with all the wave stuff. Never hurts to have a little undersea tremor to start the waves rolling.

Bob
