Thanks for your exposition, very thorough and thought provoking.

I would add #7: does not see stock market as good investment.

The decision comes down to where to invest the cash burning a hole in his pocket. And for him to shun stocks is IMO a significant change. Every day on this and other threads I read about good story stocks that are going to go up. Is he unaware of all these great buys or does he think they're going to be much cheaper in a short time.

BRK was mentioned by Jim Hopkins as traded by the smart people. Didn't Buffet say it was overvalued and that he would not recommend it to anyone.

The fact the BRK can't dump as Mr. X stated is not as important as the point of what to do with the new money. I interpret Buffet as a bear signal. Do you disagree?
