Janice, since you are an art historian and everything, and live fairly close to Turin, and I would assume have more knowledge about the Shroud than the average American layman, what is your opinion of the whole thing?

My opinion is that it's a fascinating phenomenon, compelling story, all taht. But it ain't the shroud of Christ. That's been proved God knows how many times. By now even the Vatican believes it. But it's one of those Mystical Things, and people will talk about it forever.

Living near Turin doesn't help: no WAY can you get to see it. There's the chapel of the Santa Sindone, and all that, but you can only see the photos, and as far as they're concerned, who cares?
