How've you been, Frosty?
I jumped in today at 9. Except for one quick trade at the beginning of the year, I have basically avoided this stock until the Viagra deal was done and the worst quarter of the year was reported.

VVUS is again showing much of what attracted me to it in '96......Particularly, the increasing list of nay-sayers and vociferous shorts.

Yes, there are plenty of reasons to dislike this company and its management. I agree with many of those reasons, but VVUS has always been a stock of extremes. And with the shorts enjoying such success in recent months, the selling is now, once again being overdone.

Black ink for the June quarter should be a sufficient catalyst to bring the stock off of the bottom. Additionally, those often mentioned positives, FDA approval, new milestone achievements, MUSE II progress reports are still positives, even if the bears find their continued mention tiresome. And don't forget the hype. These guys have always found a gimmick when they need one.

Vivus was my single largest winner, not only in '97, but ever! I ,like you, think there's a bunch more to be made in '98.

Good luck Frosty and all,

Richard

Yeah, I'm still here too.
In fact, I owe VLAD a long response to a bunch of questions he gave me last week, but I was away for a few days, and had a hard time catching up on the couple hundred posts since that time. And now I'm out of it anyway....

FWIW, the stock hit my stop a couple days ago at 9 3/8- better late than never. In any event, I'm now just watching and enjoying gains I got from SEEK the last two days and AAPL tonight. I wouldn't have been able to take advantage of those if I had to continue to sit on VVUS. I decided that VVUS was too expenisve in terms of the "opportunity cost" of capital and the fact that the market simply doesn't agree with my take on MUSE right now.

Frosty,
I don't think very many of the "old-timers" really went away. I think all of the predictions were made long ago and everyone just got sick of rehashing information. MANY of us got hurt financially but now VVUS will hopefully give us a chance to recoup. Remember that broker that I always used to talk about, well I talked to him just the other day and he has actually kept 90% of his clients in VVUS this whole time. I guess we'll see if he survives this, he's not a new broker and actually leads his firm in productivity. There have been lots of lessons to learn from this experience but as I reflect back I'm still confused what those lessons really are. Today I decided to set a buy with a limit at $8. While checking from work I thought that I just missed it, when I checked my computer this afternoon I found that they actually executed my trade at 3:54. Is it just me or does that seem odd to anybody else when the low was $8. I'll just have to watch close in the morning because I'm not sure the downtrend is over. It would be funny if it was, talk about catching it at the bottom!
