<< Thus, investors looking to rotate into a depressed sector, have to be keeping an eye on Biotechs >>

I agree with you. All those big pharmas are going to need new drugs, over the next few years, and guess where many of those drugs are going to come from. Plus, we are seeing an explosion in drug development, unlike any other time in history.

<< A few days ago I acknowledged that LGND COULD hit 14 in 1-3 weeks or it COULD hit 15 in the same time frame. >>

I hate to sound like a broken record, but......

In June 1995, LGND rallied from about $6 to $9, or a move of about 50%.

In April-May 1996, LGND rallied from about $11 to $19, or a move of about 70%.

In April-June 1997, LGND rallied from about $9 to $14, or a move of about 50%.

I'm not sure, but I think that a pattern is forming. <g>

I sure hope that LGND is predictable!

But........ History doesn't always repeat. We might've seen the LGND rally already this year, from $11 to $16.

On the other hand..... things have changed, and LGND has increased in value over the last year.

If we are going to see the fourth straight LGND spring-summer rally, this year, similar to the previous three years' moves, we could see a move of around 50%, or a target price of about $21-22 by July.

The unfortunate part is- If the rally comes after the 20,000th post, instead of before, I don't know how badly Walter will react. It's my understanding that he wanted to be able to buy a South Sea Island, from his LGND winnings, during the time of post 20,000.

Regards, Bob

" Biotechs are certainly still trailing the market ...There was no January effect and much of the sell off was really late last year...Thus, investors looking to rotate into a depressed sector, have to be keeping an eye on Biotechs. Similarly those who are using big Pharmas to benefit from the demographics offered by aging baby boomers should also be sizing up the relative value of Biotechs"

Henry, your comments above are very timely. I had the good fortune to be in Palo Alto and on Sand Hill Road the past few days talking with some of the top vc people in the biotech area. There is no question they think many of the publicly traded biotechs are grossly undervalued. And most of them are putting their money where their mouth is by buying public company shares big time. I'm sure you can guess what they are selling to buy biotechs...

I came back even more confident that LGND can trade at $20 by post #20,000.

Regards,

Walter
