You are completely wrong this time Bill. Word is getting around
even among Wintel diehards I know that the G3's have significantly
better performance per MHz then Pentium II, new reports show that
Pentium II advancements are not getting power to the user proportional
to MHz, and G4 will be the nail in high-end Pentium II coffin. Intel
is in trouble unless they can transition to Merced quickly at a very
competitive price point. They will get squeezed at low end by the
likes of AMD, and high end by AIM. My only regret is that AAPL did
not buy SGI for it's intellectual property. They have just capitulated
on the hardware front, and will be subsumed by Wintel. That will be
a good thing for AAPL in that it is one less competitor in the high
end graphics workstation market, since SGI will be another Wintel
clone vendor.

G4's will shake up the high-end desktop nee workstation market.

Even the schools are abandoning Apple.

This remains to be seen. The battle for .edu is far from over. Wait until Fall.

The NC has now failed in the Wintel arena...

Huh?! What'd I miss? Enjoy the Wintel/Mac dichotomy while it lasts, Bill. Someday soon that distinction won't exist.

The trouble is the WIntels are all over all the markets like ants at a picnic...

I prefer the 'flies on crap' analogy when referring to the Wintel world.

I guess we should all be glad that you and Alomex haven't been blinded to reality by Apple's outstanding performance. It's good to have a couple voices of reason around here.

Good luck to you today, Bill.
