Dauntless,

You actually don't know. You're guessing on the basis of other experiences. Someone I like on the Apple thread posted that he knew what the earnings would be. He was sure and he's a nice guy, but he was very far off. You're sure and you're a nice guy, but you really don't KNOW.

Wasn't the filing for the FDA supposed to have occurred before? I assume that SGP is doing it in order to get the most clout possible, to try to maximize their investment, but if the drug isn't worthy of approval, then it still won't be approved.

LIPO's stock price was based on everyone being sure that it would be a billion dollar drug. A lot of rich and famous people bought it, as well as some poor and not famous people, and no one was running around saying that the drug wasn't approvable. Suddenly the company announced that the drug failed Phase III, showed no better than placebo, and the stock went from 26, where I'd bought it, to 8 or so, and then more slowly, down to 5. The company was honest in announcing the story, and they didn't try to fudge anything. I lost a ton of money in that stock.
